Welcome to Schweighofer Fiber viscose pulp and bio energy

Textile pulp from Hallein - added value from wood

In 2012, EUR 56 million was invested in the pulp mill at the Hallein site for the manufacturing of viscose pulp. This highly-pure cellulose is used, for example, in the production of textile fibers. Viscose pulp is also used to manufacture sausage casings, sponges, cellophane and nitro cellulose. In 2014, Schweighofer Fiber produced 150,000 tonnes of cellulose.

The plant is one of the largest suppliers of bio energy in the Salzburg area. 15 percent of the company's annual turnover is allocated to the production and delivery of green electricity, district heat and biogas.
