Schweighofer Fiber GmbH

Schweighofer Fiber GmbH is part of the Austrian family enterprise Schweighofer Holzindustrie. The efficient and environmentally-friendly use of the raw material wood, used to produce high-quality cellulose and bioenergy, constitutes the core business. The Hallein site (approx. 15 km south of the city of Salzburg) employs a staff of about 200 people.

Schweighofer Fiber GmbH takes its responsibility for the environment and the natural resources of current and future generations seriously. Over the past 20 years, 150 million Euros have been invested in environmental measures at the Hallein site. Ecological sustainability is also at the forefront of the plant's new direction.

Focuses are:

• further increasing energy efficiency
• reducing power and heat requirements at the plant and
• reducing dust emissions at the timberyard
